We thoroughly enjoyed all of the exciting activities that took place during our recent Science Week. In addition to the learning that took place in classrooms we were delighted to welcome Zoo Lab and the Life Education bus to Belmont. We had great fun learning about the different animals in the Zoo Lab and it was exciting to be able to handle some of them! A further exciting event was the ‘On Your Marks’ cooking challenge organised by Chartwells Catering - you can read a report from our pupils in Y6 in the ‘Latest News’.
Our Science Lead, Mrs Pallier, set the whole school a Bridge Building Challenge. The objective was to build a bridge that could go over water and carry the weight of a car - or in the case of Y6, 30 chocolate bars! This turned out to be quite a tricky task requiring much resilience when plans went awry! However, after some fantastic teamwork lots of successful bridges were proudly displayed in the hall at the end of the week!
