Many children at school love the delicious meals cooked in our kitchen every day. We're pleased to let you know that Chartwell's new Spring/Summer lunch menu is now live for bookings from 21st April up until we finish for the summer in July. Meals may be booked well in advance if you wish.

The children in Year 6 – Taruca Class had an incredible opportunity to explore their themed work on World War II when they visited the National Holocaust Centre and Museum in Laxton on the last day of the Spring term.

The children in Key Stage 1 and Reindeer Class were excited to take part in a special Open The Book assembly about the miracle of the resurrection with the team from LightSpace yesterday. The children were captivated and enjoyed hearing the story.

The Great British Spring Clean

As part of their geography learning, the children in Year 5 – Sambar Class went on a field trip this afternoon to Wyndham Park. They met with River Care Grantham to learn about the River Witham and how we can help keep it healthy. They also helped to clean the local area as part of the Great British Spring Clean.

The Easter Experience

The children in Year 3 – Impala Class loved their visit to the Church of Ascension this afternoon where they took part in an Easter Experience workshop led by Reverend Sam. They heard the Easter story and then took part in five different activities. The children listened carefully, asking lots of questions and did a great job decorating stones as part of one of the activities.

Comic Relief - Red Nose Day

For Comic Relief, on Friday, 20 March 2026 children may dress in red and wear a red nose. Children will hear about Comic Relief in school and how their charity supports people and families less fortunate.

Ready Steady Go To School

We know that starting school is a big step for your child and your family, and it can be an exciting but also a daunting time. You may have questions, or you may just not know where to begin. I am pleased to let you know that the Lincolnshire County Council Early Years Team has arranged free face-to-face and online sessions to support parents/carers of children starting school in September 2026.

The competition to be our Dojo House winners was certainly close this week with a difference of only seven points between first and second place. Congratulations to Ospreys who came top with a score of 168 points. Our runners-up were Sparrowhawks on 161 and only seven points behind in third place, Red Kites.

A Wonderful World Book Day

We had a wonderful day celebrating our love for books on World Book Day! The children - and staff - all looked absolutely fantastic in their favourite book character costumes! Mr Allsopp came to school dressed as the dad from the book 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' - and brought in his big soft toy tiger too! The children were very excited to learn that the tiger is going to be a prize for the special Sponsored Read Challenge that began on Monday!

Last month, we launched our Attendance competitions, including a HERO colouring challenge and a 'Design Your Own Attendance HERO' activity. Mr Horan, our Attendance Governor, had the tough job of judging over 40 fantastic entries and was truly impressed by the children's creativity and imagination.

The children in Year 4 – Barasingha Class were very excited on Wednesday to learn they had achieved their target in the Reading Competition! Since the beginning of term in January, they have achieved a word count of 1,010,070 and have now won 10 books for their classroom. A great achievement!

Anti-Social Behaviour Assembly

This term, our Value is empathy, and we have been talking to the children a lot about stepping into other people’s shoes and have used books from the Read for Empathy Collection from The Empathy Lab. Congratulations to Red Kites who came top with a fabulous score of 241 points. Our runners-up were Kestrels on 240 and only three points behind in third place, Ospreys.
