Meet The FOBS

Friends of Belmont School (FOBS)

Team Members

(Charity Registration 1178481)

FOBS is a registered charity and for that reason, we have to follow regulations/rules set out by the Charity Commission. One of the rules states that every charity must have a set amount of committee members/trustees who are responsible for the running of the charity.

Trustees “must run [the] charity in a way that complies with [the] charity’s governing document and the law. This includes making sure [the] charity achieves its purposes.” (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/charity-purposes-and-rules) Our governing document is the Parentkind’s Model Constitution for PTAs/PTFAs and can be viewed on request.

Trustees for this academic year 2022/2023 were determined by vote at our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was held at school on Wednesday, 2 November 2022.

As you can imagine, all of our events (no matter how big or small) take time and effort to plan, organise and run. We can only continue to do so if we have enough people on the team.

Please remember, every one of the FOBS Team is a volunteer AND a parent just like YOU, so we know how busy life can get sometimes. We do not expect anyone to give more than they can – the more of us come together, the less there is to do for each individual. So, don’t be shy – we have a great laugh, make memories and most importantly, we make a real difference to the school and ultimately to each child at Belmont!

If you think that you can only help here and there – please get in touch and we can put your name down for FOBS "Lite”, our new volunteers’ group that we will be trialling this coming year for those who would like to help at events and with smaller activities as and when they can.
