Following on from the recent Gruffalo Granny webinar, the children in Key Stage 2 were thrilled to take part in a virtual author visit with S.F. Said, the author of Varjack Paw and Tyger last week!
Mrs Blackburn was very pleased to welcome everyone to our Star Achiever assembly on Friday afternoon. Three awards were presented in each class, one for each of the Belmont Pocket Principles: Be Respectful: Be Responsible and Be Ready to Learn. Awards for Reindeer Class will be included in the assembly after a period of settling in.

Our very popular Gardening Club is back in full swing with the children preparing bulbs ready for planting.
Keeping our children safe online is a priority for us all. We are delighted to let you know that there will be an online safety information session for parents and carers on Thursday, 30 September. The session is delivered virtually, so it can be watched anywhere.
The school photographer will be in school on Thursday, 15 October 2026 to take individual photographs.
We will once again be supporting the local Foodbank this year for our Harvest Festival on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
Children in Barasingha Class had a wonderful time on their Rand Farm residential visit last week. A very busy and exciting three days.
Mr Allsopp was very pleased to welcome everyone to our first Star Achiever assembly this afternoon. He was excited to share that our youngest year group - Reindeer Class - have made a brilliant start to their time at Belmont by achieving a fantastic 100% attendance for their first full week at school. They were closely followed by Elk Class on 99.3% and Impala on 99.2%.
We are very excited to be starting a journey to improve our children’s lunchtime play through the use of OPAL - the Outside Play and Learning Primary Programme! Tested and developed over the last 20 years in over 2000 schools around the world, it is based on the idea that, as well as learning through good teaching, children also learn when they play. Importantly, it has proven to be lots of fun, with children enjoying school more, having fewer disputes and accidents and greatly improved behaviour.
Being able to give first aid is an important life skill, and today we were delighted to welcome Inspire+ back to Belmont for two fantastic workshops on the topic with the children in Sambar and Taruca.
Reading is highly valued at Belmont and what better way to begin the new school year than by taking part in a webinar with the creators of The Gruffalo!
