A group of children from Key Stage 2, Ms Ferguson and myself had a fantastic day at the Cheerleading Festival at the Priory Ruskin School last week. Led by Beth, we, along with the 8 other schools taking part, learnt how to do chants, routines, formations and stunts cumulating in a wonderful performance in front of parents and carers.
It is a sport new to most of the children so many were quite nervous at first - there seemed a lot to learn in a short time. But as confidence grew, by the time we were to perform in front of parents, we had been able to choreograph a brilliant routine!
There were lots of smiles from the children as the day ended in success. Ms Ferguson and myself were so pleased for them and very proud of their resilience and teamwork. We can't wait to go again!
