Belmont Sports Personality Of The Year Presentation

The hall was full of very proud families as we celebrated the achievements of pupils who have represented Belmont in sporting events this year at our very first Sports Personality of the Year presentation. The evening was led by our Young Ambassadors, with the medals and trophies being presented by our PE lead, Mr Togher.

Medals were awarded for rounders, cross country, goal ball, netball and football. Further awards were given in netball and football:

  • Most improved player:          Netball - Maisie          Football - Jayden
  • Coach/Manager's player:      Netball -  Nikita          Football - Evan
  • Player's player:                      Netball - Eliza             Football - Layton

The Walter Cobb Cup given in recognition of sporting excellence was awarded to Leon.

As well as congratulating all those who have represented the school, Mr Togher thanked our wonderful Young Ambassadors for all of the work they have done this year.

The final part of the evening was the announcement of Belmont's first Sports Personality of the Year. There were seven nominees, with the winner decided by the children in Key Stage 2. To great cheers, Mr Togher revealed that the winner was Sam from Taruca, with Ebony in second place and Eliza, third.

It has been a fantastic year for sport at Belmont, resulting in the school being awarded the School Games Silver Mark. We can't wait to see what we can achieve next year!
