Christmas Activities Announced

It will be a very different Christmas for us all this year, but we want to try to make it the very best we can for the children in school. We have adapted some of our usual Christmas activities to ensure they are as safe as possible, so that we can truly celebrate this festive season. The tree is already up in the hall (thank you Mr Wilson!), and the classrooms will also be decorated for each bubble. Please find below, details of the events we have planned:

Christmas Cards

As announced yesterday, children can post Christmas cards into their class postbox - please ensure the recipients name and class is on the envelope. The cards will then be quarantined and delivered to classes on the last day of term. The last posting day is Friday, 11 December.

Christmas Dress Up Day - Friday 11 December

If they wish, children can wear their Christmas jumper or dress in Christmas colours. Clothes should be warm and suitable for the school day (including sensible shoes). No donation is required.

Nativity Play - Tuesday 15 December

The children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 will be recording their Nativity play this year as sadly, we are unable to invite parents/carers into school. It will be filmed in their class bubbles, so the year groups remain socially distant. We will send a link to parents/carers so that they can view it remotely.

Pantomime - Last Week Of Term

We are hoping to remotely access the Grantham Guildhall Pantomime so it can be screened in each class bubble during the week.

Christmas Party Day - Last Day Of Term, Thursday 17 December

Christmas parties will be held in each class bubble during the afternoon.

  • Lunch

Parents of children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 who have ordered a Universal Free School Meal online, and children in Years 3 - 6 who are eligible and have ordered a Free School Meal online, should note that on this day an ‘away day meal’ (eg sandwich, fruit, cookie and drink) will be provided, instead of a hot meal. Please cancel this if it will not be required.

Please send in a ‘party’ lunch in your child’s usual lunchbox. Those children who are being provided with an ‘away day meal’ please just send in a few ’party extras’.

  • Party Clothes

Children should come to school in their party clothes which are warm and suitable for the school day (including sensible shoes).

Children will leave at the normal times on the last day of term.
