Covid-19 Track & Trace Over The Christmas Holiday

A letter from Mr Davidson has been sent home regarding the role of the school in the event of Covid-19 symptoms or a positive test following the end of term on Thursday. The full letter can be downloaded by clicking HERE, but brief details are given below.

Our responsibility to be part of the track and trace process does not stop on the last day of term, but continues to the end of the day on Wednesday 23 December 2020. This extended period is to ensure that we are able to report on and respond to any positive cases of COVD-19 that are linked to the school. This 6-day period following the end of term gives time for anyone developing symptoms within 48 hours of finishing school to get a test and receive the results back.

  • If your child develops COVID-19 symptoms within 48 hours of finishing school – so by 3.30 pm on Saturday 19 December 2020 – and they then go on to test positive for COVID-19

It is imperative that you report this to us by emailing enquiries@belmont.lincs.sch.uk.  The reason for this is that we would still need to undertake a risk assessment of potential contacts with this positive case.

  • If your child develops COVID-19 symptoms more than 48 hours after they leave school – so after 3.30 pm on Saturday 19 December 2020

You should of course still get them tested but you would not need to report this to us.  The symptoms are:

A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)

A new, continuous cough

A loss of sense of smell or taste

We hope that this provides clarity and some level of reassurance.  We continue to work hard to ensure that we do all we can to keep each other safe, but please do get in touch if you have questions about what to do if you have a concern around children who might exhibit COVID-19 symptoms during the first few days of the Christmas holidays.

Thank you once again for your unstinting support, as ever please do stay safe, look after one another and have a happy Christmas and new year.
