Mental Wellbeing Week

The last week of term was Mental Wellbeing Week. As a school, as you already know, we use the 5 Ways To Wellbeing which are: be active, connect, take notice, keep learning and giving. During Wellbeing Week we focused on one a day – Mindfulness Monday, Take Notice Tuesday, Connecting With Wednesday, Physical Thursday and Friendship Friday.

On the Monday, the children all took part in a mindfulness session and on Take Notice Tuesday, they went out into the school grounds and took notice of their surroundings. Below, you can find 2 terrific poems written by Sambar Class about this. During Wednesday, children took part in a quiz, but had to give the answers of their partner not their own! They had to talk to each other, listen closely and try to remember as much as possible. We held a whole school workout on the Thursday and had music to dance to at lunchtime. Finally on Friday, children had the opportunity to award another pupil in their class a friendship award for a friendship quality!

The children applied themselves very well throughout the week and enjoyed the activities which really did raise the profile of mental wellbeing across school.
