Children from Years 5 and 6 were excited to visit the Church of the Ascension this morning to see an exhibition of the 'Our Place, Our Art' Community Art Project and meet artist Emilie Nunn.

The project has been funded by South Kesteven District Council to create permanent public art pieces in Grantham, Bourne, Stamford, and the Deepings. Artist Emilie was commissioned to submit a piece that celebrates Grantham and tells the story of the town. She worked closely with our local community to garner ideas and we created our own art piece to show the things we thought important, some of which have been incorporated into the final design. The children were thrilled to see their original artwork also on display this morning!

The finished piece by Emilie will be on display in Wyndham Park soon!
