Returning To School Update

As we get ready to give a warm welcome back to everyone and to all of the new members of Team Belmont who are joining us, a ParentMail has been sent home to every family regarding the arrangements and procedures we have put in place for the new term. A copy of the letter can be downloaded by clicking HERE.

The School Day

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2  (Reindeer, Fallow & Elk Classes)
Children in the Reception Class come in to school via their own entrance. This is the gate to the side of the Year 2 classroom that leads to the Reception outdoor area.

  • Teachers will be on the playground to greet their classes.
  • Parents to remain in lower half of playground to support a safe 'hand-over'.
  • Pupils who arrive after 9:00 am should enter school via the school office.

  • Pupils line up at their classroom doors.
  • Pupils who arrive after 9:00 am should enter school via the school office.

Covid-19 Precautions

We will continue to follow all Department for Education (DfE) and Public Health England guidance in relation to COVID-19. The day-to-day operation of the school will to a great extent return to what it was ‘pre-COVID’, however there are four key risk reducing approaches that we will continue to follow. These are to:

  • Ensure good hygiene for everyone
    • Hand hygiene - Frequent and thorough hand cleaning should now be regular practice. We will continue to ensure that pupils clean their hands regularly. This can be done with soap and water or hand sanitiser.
    • Respiratory hygiene - The ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach continues to be very important.

  •  Maintain appropriate cleaning regimes
    • We will maintain an appropriate cleaning schedule. This will include regular cleaning of areas and equipment (for example, twice per day), with a particular focus on frequently touched surfaces.

  • Keep occupied spaces well ventilated
    • We will ensure the school is well ventilated and that a comfortable teaching environment is maintained through opening external windows to improve natural ventilation and opening internal doors to assist with creating a throughput of air.
    • Utilising the CO2 monitors, provided by the Government, to support our assessment of the ventilation effectiveness.

  • Follow Public Health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of COVID-19.

When An Individual Develops COVID-19 Symptoms Or Has A Positive Test

Pupils, staff and other adults should follow Public Health advice on when to self-isolate and what to do. They should not come into school if they have symptoms, have had a positive test result or other reasons requiring them to stay at home due to the risk of them passing on COVID-19 (for example, they are required to quarantine following overseas travel).
