Star Achievers Of The Week

Mr Davidson was delighted to welcome us to the last Star Achiever assembly of 2018 on Friday morning. The children were very excited to share their learning which showcased their enthusiasm, hard work, creativity and resilience both at school and at home.

This week, our Stars received certificates for:

Reindeer Class - progress in reading and learning of high frequency words.

Fallow Class - trying hard and making progress in swimming.

Elk Class - amazing persuasive letter writing.

Impala Class - drawings which show retrieval and prediction.

Barasingha Class - a wonderful homework project and presentation.

Sambar Class - excellent work in guided reading.

Taruca Class - great editing skills. It was a delight to edit and improve his writing with him.

More Times Tables badges were awarded this week, including the coveted Platinum badge:

Bronze: Jacob, Jack, Reuben, Jalika & Summer

Silver: Brax, Connor, Zak & Tyler

Gold: Sebastian

Platinum: Sam

Sporting success out of school was also celebrated:

  • Members of our Table Tennis Club - Olly, Connor, Tyler, Max and Justas - who are trained by Mr Mapletoft and Mrs Nix, took part in a table tennis tournament recently. Olly was the winner of the U'9 boys competition with Connor being runner-up. Max was runner-up in the U'11 category.
  • Jessica and Bethany S, both from Sambar Class, have completed Sam Ruddock's Inspire+ Legacy Challenge and were awarded certificates.
  • Emily from Barasingha Class has been awarded her yellow belt in kickboxing.
  • Sandra and Alicia from Impala Class have been given proficiency awards by the British Gymnastics Association.
  • Zak from Taruca Class has been working incredibly hard at his swimming skills; being awarded a trophy and shield as well as certificates for swimming up to 400 m.

The final announcement of the morning was for the attendance winners, with the winning class this week being Reindeer Class.

Well done everyone. Our assembly next week will celebrate our Stars of the Term.
