The Mini Police were in action last Friday morning when we welcomed PCSO Pam King and her colleague back to Belmont. They came to introduce the Lincolnshire Fatal 4 programme where the Mini Police teams learn about the four main risks when driving - speeding, drink/driving, seatbelts and mobile phone use at the wheel. After discussing the purpose of speed limits and how they are different depending on the type of road and area, they discussed the type of questions drivers who were caught speeding would be asked.
In the classroom, the children were shown how a speed gun is used and were then able to go outside and use it to check the speed of cars travelling along Harrowby Lane.
It was a great informative session and we look forward to doing more!
