This Term’s Sports Round Up

It’s been yet another term full of sport and physical activity! We started the term by introducing a new club, Boxercise, which received over 60 applications to join. Due to this and to get as many as possible involved, we added an extra day to include as many children as we could. The children loved the club and were very excited and motivated in the sessions. This will carry on into next term with the possibility of children continuing to attend the club plus some new additions.

On top of Boxercise, we were also lucky enough to have Coach Chris from Inspire+ for a Gymnastics afterschool club; again a club for which we received a lot of applications, which is always great to see! The participants made excellent progress and were able to make their own gymnastics sequences, that I was lucky enough to get to watch. These clubs were ran alongside clubs that continued from the previous term: tag rugby, table tennis and netball.

In terms of competitions, this term was all about netball - we had netball league matches scheduled and also the netball tournament. A team of Year 4 netballers also had the opportunity to take part in a netball festival, learning new skills, preparing them for the netball leagues in Year 5 and 6. Everyone who represented the school across all 3 of these events did so brilliantly, showing sportsmanship, effort and enthusiasm. We couldn’t ask for more!

The summer term is already building up with lots of sporting opportunities, including, Year 5 and 6 going to swimming lessons and competitions/festivals in cricket, rounders, golf and cross country. Not forgetting we’re getting closer and closer to my favourite day of the year, SPORTS DAY!

Thank you for all of your continued support,

Mr Togher
