This Term's Sports Round Up

Another term complete and it’s been another term filled with sport! This term we have had a huge number of clubs available to our children including Badminton, KS1 Sport club, Rounders, Table Tennis, Cricket and Boxercise. These clubs have had a great up take and the children have showed fantastic improvement and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Competitions and festivals came thick and fast this term, kicking off with Year 3 and 4 cross country.  The whole team represented the school brilliantly, supporting each other and putting in 100% in the races! Special mentions for our Year 3 boy who finished 2nd in the boys race and another for our Year 4 girl who finished in 1st place in the girls race, two fantastic achievements and two unbelievably talented athletes. We then took part in the KS1 cricket festival, our team of cricketers had a great time learning about the various skills involved in cricket and represented us with brilliant attitude and effort. Our final event was the Year 5/6 Rounders competition, the team played brilliantly, growing throughout each game showing fantastic improvement and team work.

Year 3 this term have had the opportunity to work with Inspire+ coach Kelsey for Yoga; Year 5 and 6 have also been absolutely loving their swimming lessons at Sleaford Leisure Centre. We can already see the progress they have made and those competent swimmers will be starting their life saving learning in the coming weeks.

At the start of the term, Year 6 had the opportunity to work with Sophie from Inspire+ on a careers workshop and then we were extremely lucky to receive another inspiring visit from Jonathon Broom-Edwards, Inspire+ Ambassador and Paralympic high jump Gold Medalist. Year 4 were also lucky enough to have the opportunity to have time for a question and answer session with him, where they had the chance to ask some brilliant questions and get wonderful responses back.

Next term will also be another busy one, we will have the Sports presentation event, Belmont Sports Personality of the year and my favourite day of the year, sports day!

Thank you for your continued support.
