We were very excited to be informed that our school had been invited to contribute to the expansion of the nearby Alma Park Woods as part of the National Trust and Woodland Trust partnership project - Reconnecting Grantham. Last week, a group of children from Key Stage Two along with Mr Davidson, staff, parents and members of the FOBS thoroughly enjoyed planting 200 trees in the area off Londonthorpe Road; working together to reshape the look and feel of the border to the Alma Park industrial estate, alongside improving its biodiversity.
As you know, the woods are a very popular area for walking and exploring and the children are very much looking forward to seeing their trees grow tall in the coming years.
We would like to say thank you to the FOBS, the Woodland Trust and the National Trust for arranging for us to take part in this memorable event.
