As it is that time of year again, I really wanted the children to experience, as well as have the opportunity to see, what types of birds are in our local area, so decided it was the ideal time to join in with the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch.
With the support of the FOBS, we have been able to fill the bird feeders in the Wildlife Area this week. A group of passionate bird lovers from Impala Class had a great time putting the feeders into place with help from Mrs James, Chair of the FOBS, who kindly gave her time to help us.
We plan to do the bird count for an hour on one afternoon in the next couple of weeks and will send off the result before the Big Schools' Birdwatch ends on 21 February.
There is still time to take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch at home as it takes place this weekend, 28 - 30 January. Please go to rspb.org.uk/birdwatch (click HERE to go directly to it) to find out more.
We can't wait to find out which birds are visiting us and will let you know when we have the result!
