Visiting Belmont

September 2020

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 virus, access to the school by visitors has to be limited:

  • Parents/Carers are asked not to enter the school building unless this is absolutely essential. Contact with parents/carers will continue to be via ParentMail or by telephone. If it is imperative that you need to talk with a member of staff in person this will be by pre-arranged appointment and must adhere to social distancing guidance.
  • We will be unable to invite parents/carers to attend Star Achiever assemblies – however children will still be nominated for Star of the Week and a presentation will be done in the group ‘bubble’. We are exploring how we could use Zoom/Microsoft Teams so that parents and carers are able to be part of these celebrations.
  • We will not be putting on Christmas shows or holding a Christmas fair in the usual way – we are of course keen to still make the Christmas experience special for the children and will be exploring what this could look like nearer the time.

During the school year we hold many parent events.  We have open days, coffee mornings, music performances and of course not forgetting our Christmas and end of year productions and summer fun days!

On Friday mornings we hold our Achievers Assembly where one child from each class is chosen each week for fantastic learning behaviours whilst acquiring and applying new skills.  Parents of these children will be informed and invited to come along and join us to celebrate their child’s achievements.

In addition to this we have two parent consultation evenings where parents are given time to come and discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher.  During this time there is also a chance to meet other members of staff and parents and to enjoy a cup of tea!  If you do feel that you need to speak to your child’s class teacher at any other time then the school operates an ‘open door policy’, so your child’s teacher will be happy to arrange a chat at a time that is convenient for both you and them.

You will receive written reports each term that will inform you of your child’s progress and attitude towards learning.
