Vision and Values

Mission Statement

At Belmont School we want the very best for our pupils, they are encouraged to learn to the best of their abilities and we also want them to have fun along the way – which is why we strive to ensure that our provision is engaging, exciting and relevant. We know that children learn - academically, socially and morally - when they are emotionally engaged and our curriculum is designed to do just that. Alongside this emotional engagement we also ensure that there is a clear focus on our pupils developing the knowledge, skills and attributes that will enable them to ‘fly high’.

At Belmont we place teaching, learning and assessment at the heart of everything we do - this is our core purpose.  All of the decisions that we make, be they about school development planning, finance or the day to day running of the school, are first and foremost considered in light of how they will impact positively on the learning experience for our pupils.

Our Vision, Aims & Values

Our vision is to provide a stimulating and caring learning community which fosters individual responsibility and mutual respect.

We aim to:

  • Provide an education that builds on the strengths and talents of every member of our school ensuring that each feels valued, safe and cared for.
  • Provide a broad balanced and stimulating curriculum, which seeks to raise standards of all pupils regardless of gender, race, culture or ability.
  • Enable everyone to be adventurous with their learning within a supportive environment of trust and understanding.
  • Encourage positive relationships between home, school and the local community and to develop parental involvement in the life of the school.
  • Provide opportunities for everyone to take responsibility for their own learning in order to achieve their aspirations.
  • Provide a well maintained learning environment.
  • Develop the use of new technology to support and enhance learning.

In order that:

  • All pupils are equipped with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to succeed in our changing society.
  • All pupils are motivated, confident, independent learners and thinkers.
  • We have a happy harmonious school.
