  • Making Dens And Leaf Kebabs!

Not all classrooms have four walls - working outside in a natural environment is a great way for children to develop confidence and self-esteem; build positive relationships and develop a growing awareness of their emotional needs and the needs of others. This term, the children in Year 1 are the first class to take part in our weekly outdoor learning sessions with Miss Laskey.

Activities so far this term include making their own amazing hedgehogs from clay and sticks and making  colourful leaf kebabs. They have also made dens for their collection of lost little bears. Using only string, the nature around them and their wonderful imaginations, their creative dens ended up having pools, swings and even zip wires! Their teamwork and collaboration is fantastic to see and the children are having so much fun! Their sessions will continue until half-term, whatever the weather, with another class starting after the holiday.
