Positively Different!

We were delighted to welcome PCSO Georgina Stray back to Belmont on Friday afternoon for a special assembly on the topic ‘Positively Different’. Unfortunately her colleague PCSO Pam King, who has worked closely with the Belmont Mini Police for a number of years, will no longer be working with us and was unable to attend today to say farewell. The Mini Police team have passed on a gift and card along with our thanks and good wishes.

The children in Sambar and Taruca classes were given the opportunity to learn about 'protected characteristics' - religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, race and age and went on to consider what is meant by the term 'hate'. They then discussed what is meant by hate crimes - what it could involve, how it makes people feel and who to tell if it happens.

We would like to say thank you to PCSO Georgina and our Mini Police for another fantastic informative session.
