Children In Need Day

The children look wonderfully bright and colourful on what was a gloomy, wet Children in Need day. Thank you to everyone who made a donation.

Forest School

The children have been very excited to start their Forest School sessions with Mrs Pallier! Forest School aims to support the whole child – their physical, mental and emotional development - and build on a child’s innate motivation and positive attitude to learning, offering them the opportunities to take  supported risks, make choices and initiate learning for themselves, in a woodland or natural environment.

The sessions take place weekly, whatever the weather! As well as a suitable coat, we ask that children are provided with a pair of named wellies in a bag that can be brought into school on their Forest School day or kept in school if easier!

Our Fabulous Art Exhibition

We were so excited to welcome our parents and carers to see our fantastic artworks at the end of term. The children worked incredibly hard to produce their artistic maps and creative journeys which were on display at our Key Stage 1 Art Exhibition. Thank you to everyone who came along, the children loved sharing their work with you.

Science Investigations

We have had a busy time during our Science lessons this term! We have investigated the question, 'Which material is the stretchiest?' by comparing bubble wrap, felt, a balloon, elastic band and wool. Our results showed that elastic bands were the stretchiest and felt and bubble wrap were the least stretchy. We have also tested the strength of paper bridges which were folded in different ways. The strongest bridge was the one folded in a zig-zag!

Great Maths Learning

The children have been making a great start with their Maths learning in Year 2. We have been busy using our tens and ones to build and partition numbers to 100 and we made a giant human number line on the playground. The children were great at knowing where their number should go.

Reading For Pleasure

As the children settle into Year 2, one of our favourite things is to find a comfy spot and read a good book!
