In our special Belmont Winners Wednesday assembly earlier this week, our Dojo House Champions were Sparrowhawks, with a score of 201, with Red Kites only 4 behind on 197.
Mr Allsopp was also pleased to share that in the first two weeks of the term, the children in Year 3 to Year 6 had between them read over 786,340 words! A good number, but he challenged the children to do even better by announcing a brand new reading competition! Each class has a target number of words for the term and the winning class will be able to choose new books for their classroom. The scores so far can be seen below, who will be in the lead next week?
Three awards were presented in each class in our Star Achiever celebration this afternoon, one for each of the Belmont Pocket Principles: Be Respectful: Be Responsible and Be Ready to Learn. The children who excelled this week are:
The class with the highest attendance for week-ending 9 January was EYFS - Reindeer Class with 97.9%.
