We gathered in the hall for a poignant assembly today as we commemorated the end of the First World War on 11 November, 1918. Giving thanks to our service men and women, Mr Allsopp spoke of the sacrifices made and the meaning behind the poppies we wear. Below, is a report from the assembly by our young journalists from Year 6, Nella and Roma.
"We show respect on this day to all of the people who fought for our freedom so that we could live in peace. We started the assembly with a song in honour of the people who fought for our country in the war. Then we spoke about what Remembrance Day means and watched a video explaining what we do on Remembrance Day. Finally, at 11:00 am we held two minutes of silence."
