From Monday,15 December 2025, the end-of-day dismissal arrangements for Key Stage 2 will change.
Children will now be dismissed from their classroom doors on the Key Stage 2 playground. The gate will open at 3:25pm as before and we ask that you walk to the Key Stage 2 playground to collect your child.
This decision has been made because, at the end of the school day, the area beyond the Key Stage 2 gate is very narrow and often crowded, making it difficult for children to clearly see their parent or carer. This is made more challenging at this time of year due to reduced daylight, further increasing the risk of children leaving without staff being able to confidently verify that they have been collected by the correct adult.
As before, children will not be permitted to leave until they have clearly identified and confirmed that they have seen the adult who is collecting them.
For children in Years 5 and 6 who have written permission to walk home independently, this arrangement will continue, and they will be allowed to leave the school site unaccompanied.
If you have an alternative arrangement for your child to meet you in the car park or at a designated location outside the school grounds, the school must receive written confirmation of this arrangement via letter or email to the school office - enquiries@belmont.lincs.sch.uk
Please note that children who have permission to leave the school premises independently are no longer the responsibility of the school once they have passed through the school gate.
We anticipate that, in the spring term, we will revert to collecting Key Stage 2 children from the school field, as we have done successfully in previous years, when the school field is dry.

Jamie Allsopp
