Scarlet Fever Notification

We have been notified that there are some cases of scarlet fever within the school, they are at home receiving treatment.

It is felt that all parents should be aware of the symptoms, which are:

  • A bright red rash which feels like sandpaper to touch, usually beginning on the neck or chest.
  • Blisters
  • Nausea/vomiting
  • A sore throat with swelling in the neck, finding it painful to swallow and sometimes a white tongue or strawberry tongue.
  • Very high temperature

Please consult your doctor if your child is suffering with these symptoms as medication will be required.

Many thanks,

Mr Allsopp
