On Monday, we held our 5th Sports Personality Awards evening! It was a brilliant night, presenting all of our sports performers who have represented our school with medals, certificates and awards for their efforts and celebrating our larger team of athletes who competed in the Year 3/4 cross country and Sportshall/outdoor athletics events. Our Young Ambassadors did yet another fantastic job in running the event and introducing the awards and we had other children who played each of the sports telling all the attendees about it. It really is one big celebration of sport and a night that fills me with pride!
Our penultimate award of the evening was for the Walter Cobb Cup - the winner chosen by me - and this year the award went to Bianca for her growing enthusiasm and ability in sport. Our final awards were for the 3rd, 2nd and 1st place in the Belmont Sports Personality of the Year award, this voted for by the children in KS2. In third place was Maya, in second place Emily and in first, Logan! All three thoroughly deserved to be recognised by their peers for their unbelievable talent, enthusiasm and attitude in sport.
I was very pleased to complete our night by announcing the school has secured a GOLD School Games Mark for the fourth year running. Further details about this fantastic achievement will be published soon.
A huge well done to everyone who has taken part in sport this year and a big thank you to all parents and carers who have supported us and helped transport your children to events. Taking part is not possible without this so it is much appreciated! Have a fantastic summer and we’ll be ready to kick start the new year of sport in September!
