Happy New Year! We hope you had a lovely Christmas break and are as excited as we are to be back for the first term of 2026! Please find below some updates and reminders about the routines and arrangements in school this term. As usual, we will be sending home ParentMails throughout the term with further important information and details will also be published here on the website.
Belmont At 50 Events
We are excited to begin our celebrations for 'Belmont At 50' this term. On Thursday, 8 January, photographs of all pupils and staff will be taken for a future display. We ask that all children come in to school in their school uniform on that day, even if it is their PE day.
On Thursday, 15 January, we will be having a 1970s Day where all children are invited to come to school dressed in 1970s-themed clothing, and there will be lots of fun, themed activities taking place throughout the day. We’re really excited to share this special event with the children!

PE
We expect children to be wearing shorts/tracksuit bottoms or suitable sporting clothing, a Belmont PE top or a plain white or burgundy t-shirt. They can wear jumpers/hoodies but they must be plain and suitable for physical activity. In these colder times, children can wear woolly hats and gloves for outdoor PE and suitable light weight sport jackets/water proofs.

Water Bottles & Healthy Snacks
Please can children bring a named water bottle to school with water or squash every day. They are not to bring sports drinks or energy drinks of any kind. Please can children not bring Prime bottles or other sports drinks bottles so that we do not have to check the contents. Water bottles should be taken home daily to be cleaned.
Children may bring in a healthy snack to eat at playtime. This can be a cereal bar or fruit. Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are given a free piece of fruit each day but they may also bring in their own healthy snack if they wish. Children under 5 also receive a free carton of milk.
School Clubs
After-school clubs will begin week commencing Monday, 12 January. Information regarding the clubs available for Term 3 will be announced shortly. If clubs are cancelled for any reason we will inform you via ParentMail as soon as possible. A copy of the timetable for clubs can be found HERE.
Attendance & Punctuality
As you are aware, school attendance is mandatory and enabling children and young people to attend their education setting regularly continues to be a national priority. It is also important that children are on time for school each day. If you have concerns about your child's attendance or lateness, please contact the school.
If you are unsure whether your child is well enough for school, please visit our advice page by clicking HERE.
