Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
Good afternoon,
Due to issues with the boiler that provides the hot water in the school kitchen, we will be unable to serve hot meals for the rest of this week.
Please could all parents/carers go on to their ParentPay and change the option to a cheese or ham packed lunch option if your child would like this.
If this is not changed or cancelled, a packed lunch will need to be provided from home for the rest of the week.
Apologies for any inconvenience but this is out of our control until the boiler is fixed.
Regards, Belmont School Office
We had a wonderful day celebrating our love for books on World Book Day! The children - and staff - all looked absolutely fantastic in their favourite book character costumes! During the morning we enjoyed a special assembly and lots of book-themed learning and activities whilst in the afternoon, children in KS2 had the opportunity to visit the younger classes to share their love of reading. We all had a brilliant time - you can find more photos on the Class pages!
In our special Belmont Winners Wednesday assembly earlier this week, we congratulated our fantastic readers and celebrated our Dojo House Champions, Sparrowhawks, with a score of 127. Red Kites were only 1 behind on 126!
Three awards were presented in each class in our Star Achiever celebration this afternoon, one for each of the Belmont Pocket Principles: Be Respectful: Be Responsible and Be Ready to Learn. The children who excelled this week are:
The class with the highest attendance for week-ending 28 February was EYFS - Reindeer Class with a brilliant 98.67%.
Well done everyone!
It's the 27th anniversary of World Book Day today, and to celebrate, the Friends of Belmont School (FOBS) will be running a Sponsored Read Challenge from today until Thursday, 13 March 2025! Individual winners in each class will receive new book gifts and the class that raises the most money will receive a bundle of books for their class!
Details of the Challenge have been sent home, but you can download a copy of the letter, which also includes a sponsorship form, from the FOBS pages of the website - please click HERE.
For more information or questions, please contact FOBS via email on fobs@belmont.lincs.sch.uk.
The FOBS Team would like to organise/hold a Spring Disco for all children on Thursday, 3 April 2025. The current plan is to have two sessions, one for KS1 children and another for KS2 children. In order for this to actually go ahead, we need at least 6 volunteers for each session to help us run the event.
Parents/Carers can help either during the KS1 session (4:30pm-5:30pm), the KS2 session (5:45pm-6:45pm), or both.
Please let us know either via email (fobs@belmont.lincs.sch.uk) or let the office know (leave your contact details).
Many thanks,
The FOBS Team
As a school, pupil wellbeing is something that is very important to us and to help support children with their mental wellbeing we use an app called Zumos. Many of the children use the app in school but this is also something that can be used at home.
The app has various games that teach skills around supporting wellbeing, and there are support techniques the children can use around worries or other emotions they may feel. There is also a worry box where children can write a message about something they are worried about which an adult in school then receives and can offer them support.
The poster below outlines more of the things Zumos has to offer and the link for the website is:

Further information about how we support your child can be found on our Mental Health and Wellbeing pages - https://www.belmontprimary.com/mental-health-wellbeing/
If you would like more information or support, please speak to your class teacher or you can speak to Miss Allen, Miss McCormack or myself.
Thanks for your continued support!
Mr Togher
Today, we were very pleased to welcome PCSO Rowena Everitt back to Belmont for a very special 'Positively Different' assembly with the children in Sambar and Taruca classes. During the assembly, the children learned about protected characteristics and the meaning of the word 'hate' and discussed why we should be kind, be accepting and celebrate other peoples differences to help prevent 'small hate leading to big hate'.
We would like to say thank you once again to PCSO Rowena for another fantastic informative session.
In our special Belmont Winners Wednesday assembly earlier this week, we congratulated our fantastic readers and mathematicians and celebrated our Dojo House Champions. It was a very close result again this week, with Kestrels House very excited to have the most Dojo points with a score of 121. Red Kites were only 2 behind on 119.
Three awards were presented in each class in our Star Achiever celebration this afternoon, one for each of the Belmont Pocket Principles: Be Respectful: Be Responsible and Be Ready to Learn. The children who excelled this week are:
Well done everyone!
We are delighted to share that our recent trip to the Young Voices concert was a resounding success! At the end of last term, pupils at Belmont had the incredible opportunity to perform alongside thousands of other children in a grand choir.
The energy and excitement in the air were truly infectious. Our students sang their hearts out and represented our school with pride. It was a joy to see them experience the magic of performing in such a large-scale event, and the smiles on their faces said it all!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents and carers for your support and to Mrs Matthews and the other staff members who helped make this trip possible.
We hope this experience has inspired our pupils and created lasting memories. We will share the experience with the whole school by showing a video of the event in assembly. We hope that even more children sign up for Young Voices in 2026!
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday, 6 March 2025. On that day, children may come to school dressed as their favourite book character (with items you already have at home if possible). It would be great if they could bring a book to share (this should be named). No donation is required.
Please note: we understand that some children intend to dress up as characters from films, games and TV programmes (e.g. Squid Games) that are classified as 12, 15 or 18 by the BBFC. It is not appropriate to dress as these characters.
