Scarlet Fever

We have been notified that there is a case of scarlet fever within the school; a letter has been sent home to all parents/carers via ParentMail. As this is a contagious infection, it is felt that all parents/carers should be aware of the symptoms, which are:

  • A bright red rash which feels like sandpaper to touch, usually beginning on the neck or chest.
  • Blisters
  • Nausea/vomiting
  • A sore throat with swelling in the neck, finding it painful to swallow and sometimes a white tongue.
  • A very high temperature.

Please consult your doctor as soon as possible if you or your child have these symptoms as medication will be required.
