  • Out In The Community - A Fantastic Time Hedgerow Planting!

Tue 30 Jan 2024 Mrs Shales

Mr Allsopp accompanied a group of children from Sambar Class week when they walked down to Londonthorpe Woods to plant hawthorn trees as part of a special project between the National Trust and the Woodland Trust.

It is hoped the trees will become a hedgerow barrier to protect wildlife and form a habitat along Five Gates Lane. It was a wonderful experience for the children who can't wait to see their trees establish and grow.

Huge thanks to the National Trust and the Woodland Trust for including us in their wonderful project.

  • New SUMO Course In June

Tue 30 Jan 2024 Mrs McCormack, Family Liaison Officer

We have been offered an exciting opportunity for parents and carers to attend a short course, taking place at Belmont School in June!

The SUMO ‘Stop Understand and Move On’ course is for any parent, guardian, carer, or those who are supporting children and families who want to explore new ways to help children (and adults) navigate through the rollercoaster of life. The course aims to provide a ‘toolkit’ to help manage the big emotions and challenges that inevitably come their way. Each session has been designed to build from the last and show that small changes in our responses can lead to big changes as a whole.

The course is completely free of charge, taking place on Thursday 6th June, Thursday 13th June, Thursday 20th June and Thursday 27th June from 1.30pm – 3pm. It is a great chance to meet other parents and learn something new, with a cup of tea and a biscuit.

If you would like to find out more about the course or to ask any questions, either contact the school office to speak to myself or email me at Andrea.McCormack@belmont.lincs.sch.uk to book your place on the course.

Thank you for your continued support.

  • Random Acts Of Kindness Assembly - Belmont Mini Police

Sat 20 Jan 2024 Mrs Harrison

On Wednesday, we were excited to welcome PCSO Rowena Everitt into school for a very special assembly with the children in Sambar and Taruca. During the assembly, the children talked about different types of feelings and the importance of being kind. They discussed how they feel when others are kind to them and things we can all do to help others feel better. After the assembly, the Belmont Mini Police sat with Rowena to design their own kindness tokens. We’re excited to say our tokens were shared by the Grantham Police on Facebook!

We would like to say thank you once again to PCSO Rowena for another fantastic informative session.

Every week, in Friday’s Star Achiever Assembly, we congratulate the class that has the highest attendance for the week, and they are presented with the Winners Certificate. Just before the Christmas holiday, we were all excited to find out which class had won the overall Attendance Competition for the Autumn term (6th September 2023 - 20th December 2023). • Exciting Times At Forest School!

    Tue 16 Jan 2024

This year, with support from the Woodland Trust, Mrs Pallier is introducing Forest School to Belmont! Two classes are taking part this term and they were very excited to start their outdoor learning adventure last week!

Forest School aims to support the whole child – their physical, mental and emotional development - and build on a child’s innate motivation and positive attitude to learning, offering them the opportunities to take supported risks, make choices and initiate learning for themselves, in a woodland or natural environment.

Impala Class have their weekly Forest school session every Monday, whilst Barasingha's is on a Wednesday - whatever the weather! As well as a suitable coat, we ask that children are provided with a pair of named wellies in a bag that can be brought into school on their Forest School day or kept in school if easier!

We are sure that ALL the children will love these sessions and we can’t wait to get going!

    Attendance & Punctuality

As you are aware, school attendance is mandatory and enabling children and young people to attend their education setting regularly continues to be a national priority. It is also important that children are on time for school each day. If you have concerns about your child's attendance or lateness, please contact the school.

If you are unsure whether your child is well enough for school, please visit our advice page by clicking HERE.

    Safe Parking
As a reminder for the new term:

    • Please do not park on the yellow zigzag or double yellow lines outside school.
    • Please be extra cautious when driving in the area around school, especially in the car park around pick up and drop off times. The entrance and exit to the car park need to be kept clear and we ask that the middle of the car park is not blocked, as previously this has resulted in other parents being late for work/appointments.
    • Please only park in the designated parent parking spaces. There are many residential streets around the school that can be used and are only a short walk away, but please be mindful of resident's driveways.
    • Please could we ask that the disabled parking space is only used if you have a disabled parking permit on display.

May we also ask parents and carers to remind your children to:

    • Use the designated pedestrian walkways at the beginning and end of the school day.
    • Act sensibly when crossing the roads and using the zebra crossing especially as we do not have a school crossing patrol.

We thank you for your ongoing support and are looking forward to another great term at Belmont. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. Class Teachers can be contacted via TEAMS or the Contact Form on their class page of the website which you can access by clicking HERE.
